Field Service Engineer (CNC Cutting Systems)

We are seeking a disciplined, skilled Field Service Engineer to oversee field commissioning, preventative maintenance, and electromechanical diagnostics for high-definition plasma, fiber laser, and oxy-fuel profile cutting systems.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, precision leveling, drive tuning, and commissioning of CNC cutting gantries and industrial downdraft extraction units.
  • Provide comprehensive operator and maintenance personnel training on CNC interface operation, cut chart selection, and consumable life optimization.
  • Conduct root-cause diagnostic troubleshooting utilizing electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and diagnostic software to ensure minimal customer downtime.
  • Promote preventative maintenance agreements and recommend genuine consumable stock replacements to protect system cutting precision.
  • Collaborate with internal software developers and factory assembly technicians to feed operational insights back into system engineering.

Technical Candidate Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience (minimum 3 years) in field maintenance or assembly of CNC machine tools, industrial automation systems, or automated cutting equipment.
  • Strong electromechanical proficiency: biased toward 60% electrical/control diagnostics (reading schematics, drive parameters, sensor logic) and 40% mechanical assembly (rack & pinion alignment, linear guides).
  • First-principles problem-solving capability with high customer focus and structured communication skills.
  • Valid clean driving license and willingness to undertake field travel within designated regional territories.
